The Root Cause of Crime in Venezuela: Not Enough Signage!

Remember the New York Times reporting that Caracas had become more violent than Baghdad? 

The Venezuelan government has come up with the perfect solution – more signage!

The new policy means that buses will now come equipped with signs that declare a bus a “Firearms-free zone”. Yea That’ll show ’em.

More in this article (with an unnecessarily grotesque photo with zero context) from the Latin American Herald Tribune.  I’m a bit skeptical – and not just about the signs. This is the only place where I could find this coverage, in an English speaking Venezuelan newspaper. I’d bet my money that this is anti-Chavez money in play.
